Heron Cove Cottage is our newest and most unabashedly luxurious cottage. It is filled with light and art and music and magic. The round, two-story building designed (sculpted is rather more appropriate!) by renowned architect/artist James Hubbell has become a showcase for the talent and skill of many Island builders and artisans. There are stained glass windows, metal sculpture work, ceramic mosaics, and mixed-media artwork that function as fireplaces, wall sconces, railings, and lights throughout this jewel-box of a cottage.

With curving walls constructed of the same glowing wood that covers the outside of Heron Cove, the downstairs features a cozy living room with a queen-size sleeper sofa, a mosaic-mantled gas fireplace, and a TV/VCR/surround-sound stereo system that all hides from view.

The full gourmet-appointed kitchen has a gas stove, microwave, frig, and lets you cook with Calphalon. The half-bath downstairs is convenient but mostly it is beautiful-with two stained glass windows and ceramic tile designs. Outside are two decks. One offers a complete outdoor grilling center -with a double gas grill, rotisserie unit, two gas burners, and a beverage storage center. The other deck holds an 8 person sized deluxe Marquis spa, with enough massaging jets and sprays to melt away the most stubborn stress. The curving arm of Heron Cove's wrap-around stone walls give maximum privacy on both decks.

Upstairs is the master bedroom suite. A queen-sized bed rests under a soaring bird stained glass window. Another sculpture-surrounded gas fireplace and another TV/VCR/stereo system hide away in the graceful curving walls. An amazing Hubbel-designed door leads into the full bath. An unbelievably detailed mosaic adorns the walls of the cove-like shower, complete with its own stained glass window. In case you don't want to go outside for your spa experience the Jacuzzi tub pampers you indoors. (When you climb out you grab for your heated towel nicely warmed by the heated towel-rack.)

Yet another deck is upstairs off the bedroom. Roomy, covered and snug even on a drizzily day, it looks out over the northern waters to Sucia Island and the Canadian coastal mountain range rimming the horizon. Surely this is the place you deserve to be for a special get-away.

Rates and Reservations
Rates: Call 360-376-5131 for reservations. We do not accept credit cards; payment must be made by cash or check. One half the total cost is due as a deposit; the balance is due upon check-in. Two weeks cancellation notice is required for a refund of your deposit. We have a two night minimum, and a three night minimum on holidays. When you stay six nights, the seventh is free! Check-in time is after 2:00 p.m. Check-out time is before 11:00 a.m. Pets are allowed. No smoking, please.
